Minister Schaeuble and Chief Spokesman
Last week, cameras recorded Mr. Schaeuble scolding Mr Offer not to distribute the figures to journalists.
Michael Offer erred equally badly at a news conference last Thursday when he didn’t get the press kit with tax figures distributed to waiting reporters in time for his boss’s appearance.
What happened next made national news and videos posted on YouTube as of Tuesday have pulled in 400,000 views, not the usual sweep for German finance ministers.
Mr. Offer began his introductory remarks to reporters, Mr. Schaeuble cut in with:
“Mr. Offer, don’t talk and instead get the figures distributed now..”
An embarrassed spokesman explained that his team was still preparing the release.
An irritated Mr. Schäuble snapped that he had told Mr. Offer 30 minutes beforehand to have the papers ready, banged his hand on the table and wheeled his wheelchair from the room, asking to be called when that was the case.
In a word-sparing statement on Tuesday, the finance ministry Tuesday said that Mr. Offer has tendered his resignation and that Mr. Schaeuble has accepted.

Large Hadron Collider
The experiment created temperatures a million times hotter than the center of the Sun.
LHC is housed in a 27 km long circular tunnel under the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva.
Until now the world’s highest energy particle accelerator – which is run by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern) – have collided protons, in an attempt to uncover mysteries of the universe’s formation.
researchers working at the Large Hadron Collider has finally created a series of “mini Big Bangs” that will allow them to better understand how the universe formed 13.75 billion years ago.
How’d the researchers do this? Essentially, they smashed the particles of lead together to truly insane speeds (0,999 times the speed of light) with the resulting collisions produce temperatures several times hotter than our own sun … to the tune of ten trillion degrees.
To put that in perspective? It is hot enough to melt the protons and neutrons. This molten soup is hoping to convince a whole new state of matter known as Quark gluon plasma, which is required to make a lot of early Big Bang model makes theoretical sense. They also hope to learn more about the strong force.
Although the results are months away, success is very exciting.
“I now look forward to studying a small piece of what the universe was made of only one millionth of a second after the Big Bang,” said one scientist.

Amazon Kindle
Amazon will increase the royalties to 70 percent beginning Dec. 1. Publishers have previously received about 30 percent, although royalties varied by the publisher.
By making the royalty rate more attractive to publishers, Amazon is trying to encourage them to sell digital versions of their journals in the Kindle Store, perhaps at prices that are more attractive to readers.
Amazon is betting that the competition from other e-readers and e-bookstores, the available reading material, rather than the devices themselves will be most important to consumers.
To qualify, the newspapers and periodicals in accordance with certain conditions, including:
* Presentation formats that can be read at all Kindle devices and applications.
* Present in all countries where publishers have rights.
Amazon has also released a beta version of a new tool to help publishers to format their content for sale on the online Kindle store.
Last year, News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch has repeatedly complained about receiving too little from Amazon for subscriptions to publications like the Wall Street Journal. Murdoch said Amazon had paid his firm a little more than a third of the U.S. $ 14.99 monthly subscription for the Journal, which he described as “not much.”
Most magazines and newspapers are increasingly looking to digital platforms and devices such as Kindle, IPAD, the Kobo or smartphones such as new ways of reaching readers in the middle of a declining audience for traditional prints.
“We are constantly working to improve Kindle magazine and newspaper experience for both customers and publishers,” Peter Larsen, director of Kindle magazines, said in a statement.

Wade Phillips
But in a sport where the season is only 16 games long, and much of a team’s success is based on systems and game plans, many are left wondering whether a mid-season coaching change would benefit a team at all.
Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett will take Phillips place for now.
Jones has decided enough was enough on Monday, after a 45-7 loss to Green Bay Packers the night before. It was the Cowboys’ fifth straight loss, dropping the team to 1-7.
Jones told Phillips around 1:45 pm, shortly before the players arrived at team headquarters. The story was first reported around this time of KTVT Dallas-Fort Worth, so many players found out through the media.
This is their worst season since 1989 and among the worst in franchise history by record alone. Realistically, the trough is considering Dallas came out for a division title and a playoff victory, and was expected to battle for Super Bowl will be held at Cowboys Stadium.
Phillips’ departure is yet dubious spot in club history: the first in-season coaching change.
The first game under Garrett will be in New York Giants on Sunday.

Chevrolet Volt
Like many of those new electric cars that GM was originally planning to put the new sails EV in test fleets to accumulate data on how the real world drivers drive, operate and recharge the car.
Production plans will follow based on both costs and the Chinese rules that strongly encourage automakers to produce electric cars.
GM is the largest non-Chinese automaker in the country. This brings the advantage of a global R & D team and two decades of experience designing and building electric cars, including the ill-fated EV1 two-seater that was the subject of the documentary film, Who Killed the Electric Car?
Range extended only in the States
Back in the U.S., the company expects to build about 10,000 volts next year to 45,000 in 2012. Demand for the car will probably determine levels of production than that.
GM has said it has no plans to offer “clean” electric vehicles on the market with regard American drivers variable distances covered.
The Company believes that the shortage in the area fear that gasoline range-extending 1.4-liter engine in the Volt gives it a big marketing advantage against 2011-Nissan Leaf battery electric car, with its limited range of up to 100 miles.
